Our Story

Uncontested Hoops is run and operated by founder and basketball coach Herb Washington, who has over 30 years of experience playing and being involved in the game. He boasts over 10 years of basketball coaching and 4 years of strength and conditioning experience.

Coach Washington has coached basketball at all levels, from elementary school to high school, and has worked with college athletes as well. His coaching is driven by a deep passion and enthusiasm for the game of basketball. His strength lies in his ability to nurture the development of athletes through the numerous opportunities he has been fortunate to receive over his career.

His goals are to help young athletes communicate effectively, take responsibility, and hold themselves and their teammates accountable for all actions. Coach Washington believes in nurturing their dreams to excel both on and off the court, encouraging them to embody Will, Respect, Enthusiasm, Courage, and Knowledge (W.R.E.C.K.), which is the motto for Uncontested Hoops.
